The New Layout of CPV’s Office

The successful renovation of the refurbished office at the Protestant Social Center was due to two factors: active listening from the employees and the use of 3D technology to optimize delivery results.

The work environment directly impacts employee productivity and well-being. A poorly organized space, with communication barriers and constant distractions, can hinder task completion and affect the workplace atmosphere. This was the case for the Vacation Center (CPV), a nonprofit organization that, aware of the limitations of its office and budget, decided to undertake a remodeling project to improve space functionality. To achieve this goal, AmbienTo Déco utilized its BPT method, focusing on active listening and 3D digital modeling.

The CPV faced a challenge common to many nonprofits: providing the best public service while ensuring an optimal work environment for employees. Daily, the office welcomes immigrants, vulnerable individuals, and event coordinators, creating a constant flow of visitors. However, the lack of office divisions and dedicated spaces resulted in a chaotic atmosphere. Administrative staff were particularly affected, having to manage both visitor interactions and the ongoing background noise that hindered their concentration.

Beginning in early September 2021, AmbienTo Déco interviewed the recreation director and her personal secretary to gather suggestions and complaints to understand the issues from the employees’ perspectives. From these conversations, the creation of distinct work areas was prioritized to facilitate customer service and improve staff efficiency. Key proposals included establishing a small break room with an attached kitchenette, dividing the single desk into several workstations, and assigning specific spaces for reception and computer equipment.

Once the brainstorming phase was completed, the next step was to plan the project. Due to the constant interaction with clients, a digital 3D model was prepared to visualize every detail and assess the feasibility of the space division. This spatial reorganization revealed insights that had previously gone unrecognized and helped gain unanimous approval for this project, as well as others that had been postponed. The new design optimized levels of noise, air quality, and lighting, allowing the communication and marketing team to incorporate corporate rebranding.

The remodeling of Le CPV’s office not only transformed the work environment but also marked a turning point in the space’s functionality and efficiency. Thanks to AmbienTo Déco’s BPT methodology, which combined active listening with 3D digital modeling, solutions were created that addressed both employee needs and public demands. The new design, featuring specific areas for each function and materials that improved acoustics and lighting, optimized daily work and allowed Le CPV to align with its new corporate identity. This project demonstrates how a comprehensive approach to interior design can enhance workplace quality of life and strengthen an organization’s identity, even in challenging contexts.
